Cancer is among the leading causes of mortality- responsible for over 8 million deaths a year worldwide. While its varied forms have plagued humanity throughout history, advances in health science over the last century shed new light on the causes and mechanisms of the disease. The International Museum of Surgical Science joins the fight to end cancer with this forthcoming exhibit, designed to educate its 40,000+ annual audience on cancer’s most common forms and sophisticated treatments – from the well known chemotherapy, to highly advanced “precision medicine” – while inspiring the next generation of health professionals on the front line of cancer care and prevention.
The Museum is currently exploring partners and seeking financial support for this project.
