Museum Store Opens Wednesday, June 3

Published by Michelle Rinard

As Chicago partially reopens Wednesday under Phase III: Cautiously Reopen at the direction of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the International Museum of Surgical Science opens its Museum Store for in-person shopping and pick up orders. You can visit our online store at

To take the best precautions, we are adhering to the following guidelines:

  1. Maintaining a 25% capacity limit
  2. 6ft distancing and floor markings
  3. Face coverings are required at all times by employees and guests
  4. Sanitizer available for customers
  5. Touch areas regularly disinfected between customers
  6. Merchandise not allowed to be handled by guests unless purchasing
  7. We will only take touchless and card payment and no cash. Apple pay and Google pay are accepted, as well as paypal from our online store.

Aligned with the State of Illinois but tailored to Chicago’s context, the City of Chicago guidelines advise employers and residents of Chicago on how to cautiously exit from shelter-in-place while continuing to prioritize the health of our most vulnerable residents.

The Museum Store will be open Monday – Friday 9:30AM – 5PM, and Saturday – Sunday 10AM – 5PM.

The Museum has self-certified with the City of Chicago to follow safety guidelines in reopening. With these precautions in place, we hope to serve our community while increasing our fundraising for the organization.
