Internships
The International Museum of Surgical Science offers internships in the Spring (February – June), Summer (June – August) and in the Fall (August – December).
If you’re interested in a career from STEAM education to museum collections management, consider an IMSS internship to learn from some of the best in the business. Interns get the unique opportunity of hands-on experience and a look at the inner workings of our institution, the only museum in North America dedicated to surgery!
Eligibility
Part-time internships are open to college undergraduates, graduate-level students of all majors, as well as recent graduates. For certain internships, you may be able to obtain funding or academic credit through your educational institution. Check with your career services center for more information.
High school students are eligible for internship opportunities through several formal programs. We also welcome high school students as summer volunteers.
Benefits
The educational value of our internships makes for a memorable and rewarding experience. You’ll have an opportunity to work alongside other interns who share your interests, as well as experienced museum professionals. Interns receive free tickets to our public programs, an annual appreciation party, and free admission to the Museum all year long. At the end of the internship period, interns are gifted an ASTC individual membership.
