The International Museum of Surgical Science (IMSS) is pleased to announce their Fall 2026 Artist in Residence: Kaichun Chiang. Kaichun Chiang is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice centers on jade, mosaic, and site-specific installation. Through archaeology, stone materials, and cross-cultural exchange, he explores cultural landscapes, migration, and identity. Grounded in the Asia-Pacific region, his research spans Austronesian heritage and contemporary global issues.
Chiang trained in France, Taiwan, and the United States, and has participated in residencies at the Chicago Mosaic School, the Chicago Artists Coalition, TOKAS (Tokyo Arts and Space), and the Taipei Cultural Center in New York.
His work is held in the collections of the Ministry of Culture Art Bank (Taiwan) and has received support from LVMH La Samaritaine, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès in Paris, and the Asian Cultural Council. He also completed a permanent public art commission for the Taipei Representative Office in Jordan.

technologies. Through this residency, I hope to create artworks that foster dialogue about
fertility, identity, reproductive rights, and the cultural values that shape our understanding of the
