About the Exhibit:
Health in Space: Daring to Explore
The Health in Space: Daring to Explore exhibition was developed by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, one of three museums under Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation, in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency.
Health in Space is not just a display; it’s an immersive experience designed to demystify the unique health challenges faced by astronauts. Developed in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency, this exhibition showcases Canada’s pivotal role in advancing health research through an array of authentic artifacts and engaging interactive activities.
Immerse Yourself in the Extraordinary:
- Variable Gravity: Step into the shoes of astronauts and understand the impact of variable gravity on their health.
- Radiation: Explore the challenges posed by radiation in space and how it influences astronauts’ well-being.
- Isolation: Delve into the psychological and physical effects of isolation during extended space missions.
Step into the cosmos and uncover the mysteries of space health through interactive displays, authentic artifacts, and engaging activities. Gain insights into the impact of variable gravity, radiation, and isolation on astronauts’ well-being. Explore the fascinating journey of Canadian astronaut and medical doctor David Saint-Jacques and his mission to the International Space Station.
New Technologies in Space Medicine
The International Museum of Surgical Science developed the New Technologies in Space Medicine exhibition in partnership with NASA, Virtual Incision, Axiom Space, the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH), and the Japanese Culture Center.
